2013 (Freshman): Marella became an immediate scoring performer for the Raiders in her debut collegiate season as a distance runner. With the exception of a turn as the No. 4 runner in the Dickinson ‘Short’ Invitational (finished seventh overall), Marella was one of the team’s Top 3 runners in all of her races. She was the team’s No. 3 runner in all three postseason races, placing 23rd at the conference championships and 26th at the regional championships. Marella also finished 24th in the ‘Brown’ race at the Paul Short Invitational as SU’s No. 2 runner. In track competition, Marella placed fifth in the 10K at the PSAC Outdoor Championships to cap off an impressive year. She was also a PSAC indoor qualifier at 3K and a PSAC indoor and outdoor qualifier at 5K. Academically, she was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country squad.
Damascus High School: Marella earned 11 varsity letters with the Hornets under coaches Robert Youngblood, Jason Bozevich and Elrid Cason. Her personal best times were 19:54 in the 5K and 11:31 at 3,200 meters.
Personal: Allison Marie Marella is the daughter of Dan and Kathleen Marella. She is majoring in public administration. Allison has two sisters, Jenna and Amanda.
