Fisher joined the Shippensburg sports medicine staff in August 2011 as an assistant athletic trainer before being appointed Acting Assistant Director of Sports Medicine in March 2012. She earned a permanent appointment to the position on June 1, 2013.
A nationally board-certified and Pennsylvania-licensed athletic trainer, Fisher provides comprehensive health care for Shippensburg's student-athletes, including injury prevention, emergency care, clinical evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play management. She also assists with pre-participation physical examinations, provides medical coverage for summer athletic camps, oversees annual mental health screenings for all student-athletes, and assists with NCAA drug-testing procedures.
Fisher is certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and completed Individual and Group Crisis Intervention training through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.
Recognized as a campus leader in student-athlete wellness, Fisher serves as Chair of the Department of Athletics Mental Health and Wellness Committee and as the Athletics Mental Health Liaison to the Shippensburg University Counseling Center. In these roles, she oversees the department's mental health referral plan, coordinates annual reviews of mental health policies, develops educational programming, and works collaboratively to promote the overall well-being of Raider student-athletes.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Fisher is actively involved in professional service at the state, regional, and national levels. She serves as Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society (PATS) and is a member of the Shippensburg University Student-Athlete Welfare Committee, APSCUF Social Justice Committee, and University Wellness Committee.
In June 2026, Fisher was selected as the recipient of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Research & Education Foundation Richard E. Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship
, a national scholarship awarded to athletic trainers pursuing doctoral education who demonstrate exceptional commitment to research, leadership, and the advancement of the athletic training profession.
Earlier in 2026, Fisher received the prestigious
Frank George Doctoral Scholarship from the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association (EATA). The scholarship honors the legacy of longtime EATA leader Frank George and supports athletic trainers pursuing doctoral education while advancing the profession through scholarship, leadership, and service.
Also in 2026, Fisher was selected as one of the inaugural recipients of the
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) L.P. Hill Unity in Sports Award, recognizing individuals who exemplify the principles of unity, equity, and access through intercollegiate athletics.
Her commitment to leadership also led to her selection by the PSAC to represent Shippensburg University at the NCAA Division II Enhanced Attendance Workshop during the
2025 NCAA Impact Forum. Fisher led a campus team of administrators and student-athletes through a comprehensive institutional assessment to develop strategies that strengthen belonging and student-athlete success.
Fisher serves as advisor for OneSHIP, Shippensburg Athletics' diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging organization. Under her leadership, the organization has grown from a small student group to more than 55 active members. She has created opportunities for meaningful dialogue, educational programming, and student leadership while fostering an inclusive culture throughout the athletics department.
Among the initiatives she has helped develop are NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaigns, Black History Month, Women's History Month, Autism Awareness programming, athletics diversity weeks, voter engagement initiatives, educational film screenings, and campus-community partnerships that encourage learning, advocacy, and action.
She also serves as faculty advisor for Tau Kappa, the university's honors service sorority for female student-athletes. Through Tau Kappa, Fisher mentors student leaders while supporting community service initiatives, including breast cancer awareness fundraising, Project Prom Dress, and Girls and Women in Sports Day programming in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club.
Previously, Fisher served on the NCAA Choices Grant Committee, helping Shippensburg complete a three-year alcohol and substance abuse education initiative, and was a member of the PSAC Athletic Training Mental Health Management Planning Committee.

A native of Newville, Pennsylvania, Fisher resides in Shippensburg with her Saint Bernard, Sage, a certified therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs who serves as the department's Student-Athlete Wellness Support Dog. Together, they promote student-athlete wellness through therapy visits, rehabilitation support, and campus outreach.
