Jocelyn Clippinger is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Shippensburg University women’s basketball team in 2019-20.
Clippinger was a captain on the women's basketball team at nearby Messiah College and played for the Falcons from 2013-17. She was a contributor to a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship teams (2014 and 2017) that qualified for the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships. After each of her first three seasons, Clippinger was named to the MAC Commonwealth Academic Honor Roll.
Throughout her collegiate years, Clippinger was active in student life at Messiah. A Martin Scholar, Clippinger served the Student Government Association as its vice president of diversity affairs. With the women's basketball team, Clippinger was a part of outreach efforts in the Dominican Republic. She has also traveled to Fiji to assist with the Give Clean Water initiative.
With regard to basketball, Clippinger was a coach with Strictly Skills Basketball – where she worked with elementary and middle school players on basketball fundamentals. Clippinger also annually served as a clinician at Messiah's summer camps. Following her senior season, Clippinger attended the NCAA's annual Inclusion Forum, learning about topics such as mental health and disability services for student-athletes.
Clippinger arrived at Shippensburg in the fall of 2017 as a graduate assistant career counselor in the Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center – a role she still maintains. She is currently studying toward her master's degree in college counseling.
A native of Garnet Valley, Clippinger graduated from Messiah in 2017 as a dual major in both communication and sociology/anthropology.
