Trejon Dinkins was hired in March 2022 as the Director of the Kathryn Hughes Seaber Raiders Academic Center for Student-Athletes. The RAC plays a daily role in retention and academic success for Shippensburg’s student-athletes.

Prior to his appointment, Dinkins worked for 14 months as the Student Success Coach for Student-Athletes at Shippensburg University.

Dinkins’ role is to provide personalized support to student-athletes. He will be asked to identify student-athletes at risk, refer and connect student-athletes to resources, and work with student-athletes to develop realistic goals that will contribute to academic and personal success in college.

Among his other daily roles will include monitoring and recording academic progress, analyzing data, and collaborating with relevant on-campus resources to help plan academic support and developmental programming.

Dinkins arrived at Shippensburg after maintaining multiple roles at his alma mater, Millersville University. He served as a graduate assistant for the department of athletics, fulfilling valuable roles with both facilities and event management as well as fund-raising.

For a period of 16 months at Millersville, Dinkins worked as an academic peer mentor. In addition to directly mentoring student-athletes, Dinkins helped develop an Academic Peer Mentor Game Plan Worksheet and provided counsel to at-risk students.

Dinkins was a two-year captain on the football team at Millersville, earning All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Second Team honors as a senior safety in 2018 following a season in which he ranked among the Top 10 players in the league in tackles. He also served Millersville as a representative on its Athletics COVID-19 Resocialization Committee.

A native of North Plainfield, N.J., Dinkins earned his bachelor of arts in sports business from Millersville in 2019. He graduated summa cum laude from Millersville in 2022 with his master's degree in Sports Management with a concentration in Athletic Management.
