2013 (Junior): Appeared in 32 games for the Raiders in her third season with the team…led the team in on-base percentage (minimum 50 ABs) by getting on base at a .414 clip…led the team with three home runs despite totaling just 52 at-bats…hit two doubles and scored seven runs…drew 15 walks, second-most on the squad…provided one of the most memorable moments of the season with a solo home run in a 1-0 win over ESU that came in a 15-pitch at-bat…also hit round trippers against Winston-Salem State and a three-run shot in the PSAC Tournament against Mansfield that came in the ninth pitch of her at-bat…smacked a pinch-hit, three-run double in the eighth inning of a victory over Merrimack…had three sacrifices during the season.

2012 (Sophomore): Broke through in her second season as the team’s starting second baseman and one of the top sluggers in the lineup…started all 40 games she played in… was the team’s regular five-hole hitter…totaled five doubles and tied for the team-lead with two home runs…finished with 30 hits and 13 RBIs, scoring eight runs…dream a team-high 19 walks…batted .291, slugged at a .398 clip (second-highest on the team) and led the Raiders with a .416 on-base percentage…had six multiple-hit games…tied for the team season-highs with four hits against Glenville State and three walks against Edinboro…reached base in all seven of her plate appearances in doubleheader against Edinboro…had a team season-high six assists against Barton…hit a two-run home run against Charleston before following it up the next day with a three-run home run against Davis & Elkins from the West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament.

2011 (Freshman): Appeared in nine games for the Raiders in her debut season…made three starts…totaled two RBIs…scored three runs…delivered an RBI-single in a victory over nationally-ranked Minnesota State Mankato in Florida…posted a .364 batting average for the season…did not commit an error in five defensive chances…put together a four-game hitting streak during the season.

Shippensburg Area Senior High School: Earned two varsity letters in softball with the Greyhounds under head coach Mike Peters…selected as a First Team Mid-Penn All Star and a Second Team Public Opinion All Star as a senior…hit .390 as a senior with 16 RBIs and a .574 on-base percentage…originally achieved First Team Mid-Penn All Star honors as a junior…also earned spot on Colonial Division First Team squad as a junior…led team in RBIs as a junior…also played basketball.

Personal: Full name is Rachel Brooke Shumway…is the daughter of Richard and Beverly Shumway…majoring in English…has a brother, Rick, who played baseball for two seasons at Shippensburg.
