Biography

2014 (Junior): Was one of three players to start all 53 games for the Raiders in her third season with the team…played 48 games at first base, three in right field and two as the designated player…finished sixth on the team with a .294 batting average…produced 10 multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games…hit three home runs, had nine doubles and 19 RBIs…struck out just six times in 160 at-bats…tied for the team lead with 11 sacrifice bunts…was sterling in the field with a .988 fielding percentage and just three errors on the season…slotted third on the team with 65 total bases…produced three hits in games against Mount Olive and East Stroudsburg…strung together a season-long hitting streak of nine games.
 
2013 (Sophomore): Was one of four players to start all 44 games for the Raiders in her second season…earned the majority of her playing time at first base, but also served as an outfielder and designated player…ranked sixth on the team with a .279 batting average…slugged two home runs and finished third on the team with 23 RBIs…had five doubles and scored 13 runs…struck out just five times in 129 at-bats, including no strikeouts in the first 17 games of the year…did not commit an error in 165 fielding attempts…tied for the team lead with seven multi-RBI games and had eight multi-hit games…managed a season-long hitting streak of seven games…produced a season-high three RBIs in the second game of the season, a contest in which she was 1-for-1 with a double, walk and a hit by pitch and scored three runs.
 
2012 (Freshman): Made an immediate impact as a first baseman and pitcher in her first season as a Raider…started all but one game on the season (with 35 starts at first base and eight in right field), batting .278 over a team-high 133 at-bats…was the team’s primary clean-up hitter…totaled 37 hits, including six doubles and two home runs…totaled 21 RBIs and nine runs scored…slugged at a .368 clip, drew eight walks and accounted for three sacrifice flies…stole two bases in two attempts…recorded eight multiple-hit games…had a season-high three RBIs with a three-run home run against Barton…also had a season-high three hits against Charleston…hit a home run against Glenville State…led all pitchers with a 1.35 earned-run average in six appearances, including one start…gave up two earned runs in 10.1 innings, striking out 11…lone win of the season came in her only start, a four-strikeout effort against Davis & Elkins in which she gave up zero runs in 4.1 innings…also struck out four in two innings against Shaw.
 
Stephen Decatur High School: Earned multiple letters as a pitcher, first baseman and utility player for the Seahawks under head coach Don Howard…compiled a 0.98 earned-run average through three seasons…hit .440 and posted an on-base percentage of .498…selected as a three-time NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete and First Team Daily Times All Star…played for club team Virginia Shamrocks under coach Ben Fields...also played soccer…compiled a 4.0 grade-point average through three years of high school…garnered President’s Education award…achieved Principal’s List and Distinguished Honor Roll selections in each of her three years of high school…squad was Bayside South Softball Champions and Maryland 3A regional semifinalists in 2008 and 2010.
 
Personal: Full name is Madelyn Elizabeth Justice…is the daughter of Lester and Kim Justice…majoring in biology…has one sister, Allison, who played softball at Catawba.
