Biography

2014 (Junior): Appeared in 47 of the team’s games as an infielder, pitcher and outfielder during her third season with the Raiders…honored for her academics as a NFCA Scholar Athlete…made 32 starts at third base, nine as a pitcher, four in right field and one as the designated player…led the team in drawing 17 walks…contributed 15 RBIs…had 24 hits on the season, including three home runs…slammed a solo home run in the seventh inning of a 1-0 NCAA Tournament victory over West Virginia Wesleyan…provided six hits in the PSAC Tournament, including a 3-for-3 game against California, and three hits in the NCAA Tournament…pitched 53 innings on the season, posting a 4-3 record with 37 strikeouts…threw a nine-inning shutout with a career-high eight strikeouts in a home win over Kutztown…gave up three runs or less in seven of nine starts…achieved complete-game victories over Virginia State and Wheeling Jesuit…logged a shutout inning of relief in the PSAC Tournament against California…had five or more strikeouts in four appearances.
 
2013 (Sophomore): Named to the Daktronics and NFCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team squads as a utility player/pitcher in her second season with the Raiders…provided value at both third base and in the circle…her only loss in the circle was a 2-0 setback in the PSAC Tournament, as she finished the campaign with a 9-1 record and team-best 1.49 ERA…allowed just 15 earned runs in 70 innings and struck out 68 batters…allowed two earned runs or less in 10 of 11 starts and just three earned runs in the other…made 16 starts at third base…totaled 12 RBIs, three multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games despite limited at-bats…committed just one error in 48 fielding chances…named the PSAC Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week on March after propelling the Raiders to a 6-2 start…earned complete-game victories over Davis & Elkins and Pace, posting a team-best 0.75 earned-run average while giving up seven total hits, just one run and striking out 16 in the span…contributed to three shutouts and had a save…threw seven complete games…held opponents to a .218 batting average against…recorded a one-hit shutout victory over NYIT with seven strikeouts…blanked Slippery Rock in a five-inning contest…signature games at the plate included a two-double, two-RBI effort in a win over IUP and two hits and two RBIs in the second game of the year against Davis & Elkins.
 
2012 (Freshman): Emerged as a reliable starting pitcher in her first season with the team…led all players with 23 appearances in the circle, including 10 starts…her 13 relief appearances were tied for second-most in the PSAC…posted a 2.75 earned-run average, the lowest among the team’s three regular pitchers…logged 86.2 innings pitched (second-most on the team) and three complete games…earned two saves…struck out 76 batters (second-most on the team)…held opposing batters to a .242 average…totaled two hits and scored three runs…was named PSAC East Co-Pitcher of the Week after earning two wins in two starts totaling 16.0 innings and giving up zero walks…pitched a complete-game, six-hit effort with a career-high nine strikeouts against West Chester…followed that up four days later with a team season-high nine innings against Edinboro in which she struck out eight and gave up four hits in the shutout…also struck out seven in six innings against Glenville State.
 
Souderton High School: Was a four-year varsity starter as either a pitcher or third baseman for the Indians under head coach Courtney Hughes…selected as a Suburban One Conference First Team Pitcher…named her team’s MVP as a senior…finished 16-5 with a 1.01 ERA as a senior pitcher, striking out 239 hitters in 153 innings…hit .338 at the plate as a senior and led her team in doubles…received All-State Honorable Mention honors from the PA Coaches Association and Philadelphia Inquirer All-Southeastern First Team honors as a senior…chosen as The Reporter Softball Athlete of the Year and The Intelligencer Softball Player of the Year…selected numerous times as an Athlete of the Week…named the 2010 Souderton Area Defensive Player of the Year…selected to the Suburban One League Third Team as a pitcher…went 8-3 as a junior with a 1.97 ERA and 103 strikeouts… played for club team Harleysville Thunderbirds 18U Gold under coach Charlie Ball…honored as the Indian Valley Women’s Club Girl of the Month in May 2011…earned American Legion award as a freshman…squad reached ‘AAAA’ state quarterfinals and placed fifth in districts during senior season…tabbed as Souderton Student of the Month in May 2011.
 
Personal: Full name is Elizabeth Kristine Parkins…is the daughter of Bob and Kim Parkins…majoring in management, concentrating in human resource management, and seeking a minor in Spanish…has three sisters: Megan ’03, Tara and Emily ’12…Emily ’12 was a senior teammate during her freshman season and now works for the NCAA.
