Biography

2013 (Junior): Expanded her playing time at catcher in her third season with the Raiders…posted a .333 batting average, third-best on the team, through 78 at-bats…launched two home runs to go along with 10 RBIs…had four doubles and a triple…scored 12 runs…tied for the team lead with six sacrifices…committed just one error and two passed balls in 210 fielding chances…managed a batting average above .400 through her first 11 games of the season…produced multiple hits in seven games…went 3-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs in a victory over Massachusetts Lowell…finished March 15 with five hits in seven at-bats after a 2-for-4 performance against Fairmont State that included two RBIs and a double…scored a season-high three runs in a win over Edinboro…compiled a season-best hitting streak of seven games.

2012 (Sophomore): Started 11 games at catcher and appeared in two others in her second season with the team…became the team’s regular catcher in the final portion of the season…totaled four hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs…caught five base runners stealing in 12 attempts…posted a .988 fielding percentage…SU posted a 5-6 record in the 11 games she started behind the plate…recorded a team season-high 15 putouts at Millersville…a two-RBI single was one of her season-high two hits against Lock Haven in the first game of the PSAC Tournament…laid down the game-ending tag at home plate for the final out of SU’s 1-0 home win over Kutztown that snapped the Golden Bears’ 33-game win streak and gave KU its first conference loss of the season.

2011 (Freshman): Performed well in her debut season as the team’s No. 2 catcher…appeared in 18 games, making nine starts…posted a .346 batting average…struck out just twice in 26 at-bats…recorded two doubles and two RBIs…scored nine runs…did not commit an error and was perfect with the glove despite 89 defensive chances…had multiple hits in PSAC Eastern Division games against Kutztown (twice) and Millersville…posted four multi-hit games overall, which was seventh-most on the team.

Methacton High School: Earned two letters under head coach Cathie Miller…tabbed All-PAC-10 Honorable Mention and All Area Honorable Mention in 2009…helped lead the Warriors to the first round of the PAC-10 playoffs in 2009 and 2010…played for club team Harleysville Thunder…club coach was Charlie Ball.

Personal: Full name is Kirstin Marie McClune…is the daughter of Mike McClune and Virginia Unbekant…majoring in supply chain management…has three siblings: Casey, Michael and Randi.
