Emily Goshorn is in her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Shippensburg University softball team in 2027. It is her third season as the team’s primary pitching coach since her return to the staff in 2025 and her fifth season overall as the Raider pitching coach.

In 2026, Goshorn was the primary mentor to a pitching staff that ranked third in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in strikeouts (270), tied for third in shutouts (9), fourth in ERA (3.45) and fourth in batting average against (.259). Anchoring the staff was All-PSAC and consensus All-Region sophomore starter Dani Hayward, who led the PSAC in wins (28) and ranked second in innings pitched (225.2), third in ERA (2.23), third in strikeouts (197) and fifth in batting average against (.234).

Goshorn began her second stint as an SU assistant coach in 2025 and was tasked with mentoring the team’s pitchers. She instructed a pitching staff that ranked fourth in the PSAC in strikeouts (346) and fifth in batting average against (.267). Senior starting pitcher Alicia Ball, an All-PSAC performer, ranked third in the league in innings pitched (193.0), fourth in strikeouts (192) and fourth in batting average against (.219).

Immediately following the conclusion of her playing career, Goshorn served as a volunteer assistant during the 2015 season under head coach Bob Brookens. Goshorn was also a member of the staff in 2017 and 2018, serving as a pitching coach under current bench boss Alison Van Scyoc.

An All-American softball pitcher for the Raiders from 2011-14, Goshorn (formerly Estep) finished her career with a 62-21 record, 652 strikeouts and a 1.65 ERA. Her storied run with the Raiders ranks her second in school history for career strikeouts and batting average against (.197), third in victories and shutouts (17), fourth in complete games (61), fifth in winning percentage, and sixth in appearances (98), starts (79), innings pitched (537.1) and ERA. She was a three-time PSAC Eastern Division Pitcher of the Year, earning the award as a freshman, junior and senior.

As a senior in 2014, Goshorn became the first SU player to be named a Daktronics First Team All-American since the creation of the awards in 2007. She was also named the Daktronics Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year and the PSAC Eastern Division Pitcher of the Year. Goshorn set career bests in virtually every pitching category, posting a 25-4 record, a 1.18 ERA and 208 strikeouts in 190 innings. Included in her efforts were nine shutouts, three no-hitters, two saves and 23 complete games in 27 starts. One of her no-hitters came against IUP in the first round of the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.

A native of Chambersburg,  Goshorn works for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as a Solution Architect. She and her husband Jordan are the proud parents of their three boys: Atlas, Emmett and Ian.
