Ashley Grimm is in her 16th year as a member of the Shippensburg University athletics administration in 2025-26. She currently serves as the associate director of athletics, having been elevated to the role in April 2019.
 
At Shippensburg, Grimm is especially active in the maintenance and enforcement of NCAA rules compliance and interpretation. Her additional responsibilities with the athletics department include game management, student-athlete development, supervision, and administrative roles. 
 
Grimm is a member of the senior leadership team and serves as the sport program administrator for women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, volleyball, and wrestling along with overseeing cheerleading and strength and conditioning.
 
Her expertise has resulted in significant contributions to a wide variety of regional and national committees. Grimm is currently serving a four-year term on the NCAA Division II Legislation Committee, to which she was voted vice-chair. She also serves on numerous Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) committees and is the chair of the league’s Officiating Committee. 
 
Grimm has been an integral advisor to Shippensburg’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She has overseen a group of student-athletes that conducts numerous community initiatives, including a holiday gift-giving event, various campus and community fundraisers, and the annual SAAC Fun Swim Meet.
 
She arrived at Shippensburg in 2010 and served nearly nine full academic years as its assistant director of athletics. She was officially named the assistant director of athletics on July 23, 2012 after serving as the acting assistant director of athletics for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years.
 
From 2009-10, Grimm was an athletic department assistant and a graduate assistant women’s basketball coach at Clarion, her alma mater. Grimm was a valuable resource to the athletics department in the areas of compliance and academic performance while organizing and administrating numerous events and fund-raisers.
 
As an assistant coach, Grimm was responsible for the majority of the scouting reports and game film review for the women’s basketball program along with the supervision of the team’s academic progress. She was a valuable practice instructor and also assisted with recruiting and gameday operations.
 
Grimm was a four-year letter winner and starting point guard on the women’s basketball team at her alma mater and graduated as Clarion’s all-time assists leader with 569. She scored 807 points, collected 217 steals (sixth-most in school history), shot 42 percent from the floor (281 of 664) and 73 percent from the free throw line. Grimm was also a co-captain and letter winner on Clarion’s first-ever women’s golf team.
 
As an undergraduate, Grimm was a two-year president of Clarion’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) after serving as the organization’s vice-president as a sophomore. She also served as the vice-president of the student senate during her senior year and was an active participant in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
 
A gifted student, Grimm earned two PSAC Top 10 awards and two CoSIDA Academic All-District certificates among her numerous academic honors. She was a four-time PSAC Scholar Athlete who graduated summa cum laude in 2008 with a degree in biology while enrolled in the honors program.
 
After receiving a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, Grimm was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for nationally accredited business programs at Clarion. She received her MBA in 2010 and is currently working on a dissertation for her doctorate degree.
 
Grimm, a native of Sugarloaf, lives in Shippensburg with her husband and daughter.
