2012-13 (R-Sophomore): Produced four PSAC place-winning performances for the Raiders in his second season…anchored the outdoor 4x4 relay that won a conference title and clinched the team championship for Shippensburg…placed second in the open 400 meters outdoors and sixth in the 200 meters…anchored the indoor 4x4 relay that finished second at PSAC Championships…posted NCAA indoor provisional qualifying times at 200 and 400 meters and both indoors and outdoors with the 4x4 relay…set each of his outdoor season bests at the PSAC Championships.
2011-12 (R-Freshman): Excelled for the Raiders as a 400- and 200-meter conference qualifier in his first season with the team off a redshirt…was a featured competitor on the team’s top 4x400-meter relay squads that placed third at both the PSAC indoor and PSAC outdoor meets, resulting in All-PSAC finishes…placed fourth in the open 400 meters at the PSAC indoor championships…established an outdoor PR in the 200 at Bucknell and in the 400 at Richmond.
2010-11 (Freshman): Redshirt season.
Boiling Springs High School: Totaled multiple varsity letters with the Bubblers under coach Joe Harker…also played football.
Personal: Full name is Robert Courtney Bales…is the son of Robert Bales Jr. and Jodi Bales…majoring in sociology.
