2010-11 (Freshman): Performed well in the 800 and 1,500 meters during his debut season with the Raiders…contributed to a PSAC indoor championship with the DMR squad…qualified for the PSAC outdoor meet in the 800 and 1,500 meters as well as the PSAC indoor meet in mile…established his outdoor 800-meter PR at the Millersville Metrics…placed third in the 1,500 meters at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium to set his outdoor PR in that event.
York Suburban High School: Excelled for the Trojans under coaches Ron Herman and Dan VanHouwe…earned eight varsity letters… won the 800 at the YAIAA counties meet and placed fourth at the district meet to qualify for states with a school-record time of 1:56.22… named his track team’s MVP as a senior in addition to receiving York Daily Record Division B All-Star honors as a junior and a senior…cross country squad won the PIAA ‘AA’ cross country championship in his senior…individually placed seventh at the district meet and third at the YAIAA counties meet with a PR for the 5K of 16:43…honored his cross country team’s MVP as a senior in addition to receiving York Daily Record Division B All-Star honors as a junior and a senior.
Personal: Full name is Jacob Daniel Jones…is the son of Danny and Kimberly Jones…majoring in marketing…has a younger sister, Hannah, who competes in cross country and track at York Suburban…father competed in track at Montana State University and placed second in the 400 at the 1989 Big Sky Conference Championships.
