Kim Sellers enters her fifth year as an assistant throws coach at Shippensburg. A 1999 graduate of Shippensburg, Sellers received a bachelor’s of science in psychology and minored in coaching.
Sellers served as a team captain and was a nine-time placewinner in the PSAC and ECAC conference meets in the shot put, discus and javelin. She was the 1998 PSAC Conference Champion in the discus and currently holds the school record for the indoor shot put with a distance of 42-4.75.
Sellers also had a strong high school career. She earned four Pennsylvania state titles in shot put and discus while at East Juniata, placed third at nationals in the shot put her senior year with a throw of 44-8, and was named All-American in the shot put.
Previously, Sellers served as an assistant throws coach at Susquehanna University. In 2003-04, she helped produce the men’s MAC champion in the weight throw, hammer, discus and shot put. In one season, she coached 22 MAC placewinners in the indoor and outdoor championships.
Sellers is excited to enter another season at her alma mater and aid in Shippensburg’s dominant throwing program. She also has a master’s degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg University and is a teacher in the Chambersburg Area School District. She resides in Shippensburg.
