Biography
2016 Indoors: Qualified for the 5K at the PSAC Indoor Championships, placing 18th overall…competed solely in the 5K during the season.
2015 Cross Country: Ran in five races for the Raiders…served as SU’s No. 2 runner at the Mack Cooper Invitational (Slippery Rock), finishing 13th overall…placed 14th at the Go Fast River Run (Lock Haven) as SU’s No. 6 runner…served as SU’s No. 8 runner in the Piper Open/Alumni Challenge and at Kutztown’s Division II Challenge…ran in the Brown race at the Paul Short Invitational.
2015 Outdoors: Qualified for the 10K at the PSAC Outdoor Championships, placing 13th overall…competed in the 800, 1500, 5K and 10K during the season…notched his 10K qualifier in a PR at the Paul Kaiser Classic.
2015 Indoors: Qualified for the 3K and the 5K at the PSAC Indoor Championships…placed 19th in the 3K and 22nd in the 5K at the conference meet…ran 3K twice, setting a season best at the Bucknell Tune-Up, and 5K once during the regular season.
2014 Cross Country: Ran in the first five races of the season for the Raiders…placed 10th at the Mack Cooper Invitational (Slippery Rock) as SU’s No. 6 runner…finished 11th at the ECAC Championships as SU’s No. 10 runner…served as SU’s No. 7 runner at the Dickinson Long Invitational and at the Piper Open/Alumni Challenge…competed in the Gold race at the Paul Short Invitational.
2014 Outdoors: Qualified for the 5K at the PSAC Outdoor Championships, placing 20th overall…established his 5K best at the Colonial Relays…also competed in the 3K and the 10K.
2014 Indoors: Qualified for the 3K and the 5K at the PSAC Indoor Championships…placed 15th in both events…ran a 5K PR at the conference championships…established his 3K season best at the Bucknell Tune-Up…also competed in the mile and the 4x8 relay.
2013 Cross Country: Ran in the first four races of the season for the Raiders…finished as SU’s top runner in the open race at the Paul Short Invitational, placing 88th overall…served as SU’s No. 8 runner at the Dickinson Short Invitational and at Kutztown’s Division II Challenge.
Central Bucks East High School: Tallied 10 varsity letters with the Patriots and was coached by Paul Wilson…was a five-time PIAA state qualifier in either cross country or track and finished as a seven-time All-Suburban One Continental Conference performer…compiled a high school 5K cross country PR of 15:57 and track splits were 4:26 at 1,600 meters and 9:38 at 3,200 meters.
Personal: Full name is Alec Justin Brand…is the son of Eric and Flavia Brand…majoring in mathematics while seeking secondary education certification…is one of a set of triplets, along with brother Evan and sister Lexie.
