He served as a team captain in both his junior and senior seasons.
Whitcomb earned Capital One Academic All-District accolades in 2013 for his performances both on the field and in the classroom. Off the field, Whitcomb served as the 2014-15 President of SU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Whitcomb is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and has participated in a number of community service and fund-raising events – including Athletes Got Talent, One Night, One Wish and SAAC's Special Olympics events. Additionally, Whitcomb has been a member of the Apple Leadership Team through SU Athletics and an Accounting Club member.
