2013 (Freshman): Sutton made an immediate impact with the cross country team in his debut season, running in all three of SU’s postseason races. He impressed with a 27th-place finish as SU’s No. 5 runner at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships that helped propel the Raiders to nationals. Sutton was the team’s No. 6 runner at the NCAA Championships and the No. 7 runner at the PSAC Championships. At the Paul Short ‘Gold’ race, Sutton was the No. 4 runner. On the track, Sutton impressed with a sixth-place finish in the 5K at the PSAC Outdoor Championships. He was also a PSAC indoor qualifier at 5K.
 
Lake-Lehman High School: Sutton amassed 10 varsity letters running for the Black Knights and coaches John Sobocinski and Bill Kvashay.  He finished fifth at the 2012 PIAA ‘AA’ State Cross Country Championships as a senior after winning the 2012 PIAA District 2 Championship. His success led to the Wyoming Valley Coaches’ MVP award. Among his splits are a 9:38 time over 3,200 meters and 16:24 at 5K. In addition to running, Sutton competed in swimming and wrestling.

Personal: Kieran Charles Sutton is the son of Don and AnneMarie Sutton. He is majoring in computer engineering. Sutton has two sisters, Emily and Kaitlin, and numerous cousins who compete in various sports at a number of Division I and Division II schools.
