2022 (Sophomore): Repeated as a USTFCCCA All-Region and All-PSAC First Team performer for the Raiders…placed seventh at the PSAC Championships as the team’s No. 2 runner…ran 22nd at the Regional Championships as the team’s No. 1 scorer…was a scoring runner in all six of his races…improved his 8K PR with an impressive performance at the Paul Short Run as the teams No. 2 runner…ran third at Kutztown’s Division II Challenge…achieved Top 20 finishes at the Ed Winrow Invitational and the Go Fast River Run.
2021 (Freshman): Qualified for the NCAA National Championships as an individual to highlight his first full season with the Raiders…notched a USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region classification with a 10th-place finish as the team’s No. 2 runner at the regional championships…earned his first All-PSAC First Team classification with a fifth-place finish at the conference meet as the team’s No. 2 runner…served as the team’s No. 1 runner in the first four races of the season, including a victory at the Dickinson Short Invitational and fourth-place finishes in the Piper Challenge and the Kutztown Division II Challenge…paced the Raiders at the Paul Short Run at which he established his 8K PR.
2020 (Freshman): Served as the team’s No. 3 runner in all three races during an abbreviated season held in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic…earned an All-PSAC First Team classification with a 12th-place finish at the PSAC Championships…posted a fourth-place finish at both the LHU Winter Invite and the SU Invite.
Shippensburg Area Senior High School: Totaled three letters in cross country and two in track & field for the Greyhounds under head coach Michael Sassin…earned a pair of All-Mid-Penn Conference classifications…was a PIAA State Cross Country Championships qualifier as a senior after a fourth-place finish at the PIAA District 3 Championships…set the school record in the 5K…qualified for the PIAA ‘AAA’ District 3 Championships in the 3,200 meters as a junior…submitted PRs of 4:39 in the mile, 9:41 in the 3,200 meters and 16:12 for a cross country 5K…achieved a 4.0 weighted GPA and was nominated for the John Travers Award…held dual enrollment with his high school and Shippensburg University as a junior and senior…earned 30 college credits through Advanced Placement (AP) classes.
About Hunt: Full name is Hayden James Hunt…is the son of James and Irma Hunt…seeking his MBA after graduating magna cum laude in May 2023 with a degree in management…has a sister, Allison…mother Irma is a professor at Shippensburg.
