2013 (Freshman): In his debut season, Schettler made an immediate impact and served as a scoring performer in all of SU’s postseason races. He was the team’s final scorer at the NCAA Championships after serving as the No. 6 runner at both the PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships. During the season, Schettler was SU’s No. 2 runner in the ‘Gold’ race at the Paul Short Invitational, finishing among the Top 175 in a Division-I laden event. During the track season, Schettler anchored SU’s All-PSAC distance medley relay that finished third overall. He was a PSAC indoor qualifier in the mile and outdoor qualifier in the 1,500 meters.
Penn Manor High School: Schettler totaled five letters with the Comets running for coaches Arthur Morris and Bob Ulmer. His specialty was the 1,600 meters, an event in which he earned a PIAA state medal and District 3 AAA silver medal. He was also a three-time All-Lancaster/Lebanon League First Team All Star and was a captain when the Comets won the conference cross country title. On the track, Schettler was a three-time individual conference champion, including twice in the 1,600 meters, and a two-time district medalist in the 5K. Split times include 4:15 at 1,600 meters and 16:09 at 5K. Besides running, Schettler also competed in basketball and soccer.
Personal: Harrison Brown Schettler is the son of Mark and Susan Schettler. He is majoring in exercise science. Schettler has a sister, Elizabeth.
