2012 (Sophomore): England raced four times during the cross country and maintained his role as an integral runner with the team, serving as the No. 5 runner at the NCAA regional championships with a new 10K PR of 32:50 that merited a Top-50 finish. He impressed at the Paul Short Invitational, completing 8K in 26:26 for a 54th-place finish as SU’s No. 2 runner. England was also among SU’s starters for the PSAC Championships. During the track season, England contributed to a PSAC indoor championship in the 4x800-meter relay and a second-place finish in the same event at the PSAC outdoor championships.Â
2011 (Freshman): In his first season with the Raiders, England impressed despite having to increase his distance from that with which he was familiar in high school. England was a solid scoring runner all season long – setting his 8K PR at the PSAC championships with a 35th-place finish and his 10K PR at the NCAA regional championships with a 54th-place finish. He was SU’s No. 5 runner at the conference championships and at regionals before serving as the No.6 runner at the NCAA championship race. During the track season, England returned to form as a steady 800-meter performer, earning All-PSAC honors in the open event with a third-place finish and running the opening leg of the PSAC indoor champion 4x800-meter relay.Â
Easton High School: England amassed 12 varsity letters with the Red Rovers while running for coach Bobbi Jo Powell. His specialty in high school was the 800 meters – as he earned All-Lehigh Valley Conference honors three times as an individual and twice with his school’s 4x800-meter relay squad. He earned a state medal as a senior on a 4x800-meter relay squad that placed fifth.
Personal: Bernard Carlton England is the son of Bernard and Sharon England. He is double-majoring in biology and psychology. England has two siblings: Byron and James.Â
