2015 Cross Country: Ran in five races for the Raiders…served as SU’s No. 2 runner at the Mack Cooper Invitational (Slippery Rock), finishing 13th overall…placed 14th at the Go Fast River Run (Lock Haven) as SU’s No. 6 runner…served as SU’s No. 8 runner in the Piper Open/Alumni Challenge and at Kutztown’s Division II Challenge…ran in the Brown race at the Paul Short Invitational.
2014 Cross Country: Ran in the first five races of the season for the Raiders…placed 10th at the Mack Cooper Invitational (Slippery Rock) as SU’s No. 6 runner…finished 11th at the ECAC Championships as SU’s No. 10 runner, achieving his 8K collegiate PR…served as SU’s No. 7 runner at the Dickinson Long Invitational and at the Piper Open/Alumni Challenge…competed in the Gold race at the Paul Short Invitational.
2013 Cross Country: Ran in the team’s first four races. He ran three different distances, including a 12:44 turn on the 4K short course at Dickinson, and a 20:09 time at 6,000 meters on his home course. Brand capped off his inaugural cross country season by improving 45 seconds on his inaugural 8K, running 26:38 at the Paul Short Invitational to pace SU’s group that competed in the open race. During the track season, Brand was a PSAC indoor qualifier in the 3K and 5K and a PSAC outdoor qualifier in the 5K.
Track & Field:
2016 Outdoors: Qualified for the 10K at the PSAC Outdoor Championships, in which he competed…ran three 10Ks during the outdoor season and completed one 3K…achieved his 10K collegiate best and conference qualifier at the Paul Kaiser Classic.
2016 Indoors: Qualified for the 5K at the PSAC Indoor Championships, placing 18th overall…competed solely in the 5K during the season.
2015 Outdoors: Qualified for the 10K at the PSAC Outdoor Championships, placing 13th overall…competed in the 800, 1500, 5K and 10K during the season…notched his 10K qualifier in a PR at the Paul Kaiser Classic.
2015 Indoors: Qualified for the 3K and the 5K at the PSAC Indoor Championships…placed 19th in the 3K and 22nd in the 5K at the conference meet…ran 3K twice, setting a season best at the Bucknell Tune-Up, and 5K once during the regular season.
Central Bucks East High School: Tallied 10 varsity letters with the Patriots, coached by Paul Wilson…was a five-time PIAA state qualifier in either cross country or track and finished as a seven-time All-Suburban One Continental Conference performer…posted a high school 5K cross country PR of 15:57 and track splits of 4:26 at 1,600 meters and 9:38 at 3,200 meters.
About Brand: Full name is Alec Justin Brand…is the son of Eric and Flavia Brand…He is majoring in mathematics while seeking secondary education certification. He is one of a set of triplets, along with brother Evan and sister Lexie.
