Paul Lundy, the athletic director at nearby Cumberland Valley Christian School, joins the Shippensburg men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2009-10 season as a volunteer coach. Lundy is fulfilling an internship requirement while seeking a master’s degree in sports studies from the NCAA Leadership Academy.
Lundy is a veteran of the high school coaching ranks, helping guide CVCS to the Mason-Dixon Conference Championship in 2006-07 as the assistant varsity coach and the head JV coach. Last season, he guided the varsity girls team at CVCS to a third-place conference finish.
His camp experience is prolific. This offseason, Lundy worked the Duke University Men’s Basketball Camp as well as the Hoop Groups camp and the Shippensburg University camp run by coach Springer. Lundy has also worked at the Hoop Heaven and Five Star basketball camps. He has eight years of camp experience.
Lundy has also been a physical education teacher at CVCS since 2007. He served as a sixth-grade teacher at the school dating back to 2005. Before arriving in Pennsylvania, Lundy was a three-year middle school boy’s basketball coach at Lynchburg Christian Academy in Virginia.
A 2004 graduate of Liberty University, Lundy was named the Liberty University Christian Service Volunteer of the Year in 2004. He is certified NFHS/ASEP in coaching.
