Chris Bupp, a former Shippensburg University player under long-time coach Rodger Goodling, is in his sixth season as an assistant coach on the Shippensburg University men’s basketball staff.

Bupp assists the men’s basketball team in a variety of ways, providing instruction to the team’s perimeter players and paying special emphasis to working with the team’s point guards. He also is active in the team’s recruiting efforts.

Prior to Shippensburg, Bupp spent nearly 20 years as a high school coach in the York area; he earned Coach of the Year honors in 1988-89.

After his many years as a high school coach, Bupp remained involved with local basketball by serving as a coach for two different York-area AAU programs. Bupp was involved as a talent evaluator for high school and junior college players at two Division I basketball programs.

A lifelong resident of York, Chris and his wife Pam have been married for more than 20 years. Together, the couple has five children and 11 grandchildren.
