2023 NFHCA All-Academic Squad
 
2023 (Junior): Emerged as a vital attacker and defender on the wing during her debut season with the Raiders…played in all 20 games, making 18 starts…finished fourth on the team with seven goals scored…scored two goals in SU’s 3-2 triumph at 2023 NCAA DII Champions Kutztown Oct. 10 …scored twice in a 6-1 victory at Assumption (Sept. 10)…scored the game-winning goal Sept 30 against Frostburg State…selected to the 2023 National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
 
2022 (Sophomore): Redshirt season at James Madison…transferred to Shippensburg and competed with the Raiders in the Spring 2023 semester.
 
2021 (Freshman): Appeared in six games in her debut season at James Madison…selected to the Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and the Dean’s list in the Fall...named a JMU Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete in the spring.
 
Lower Moreland High School: Totaled four varsity letters for the Lions under head coach and mother Shawn Mayer…competed at the club level for the Mystx Field Hockey Club under coach Tina Reinprecht…was an all-time scoring leader with career 118 goals…holds the single-season scoring record during freshman (23), sophomore (25) and junior (56) seasons…added 23 assists…two-time Bicentennial All-League First Team…named to the Suburban One League (SOL) First Team and to the Montgomery Region All-Area First Team…voted team captain and MVP in three seasons…also earned four varsity letters for track & field…four-time honor roll student.
 
About Mayer: Full name is Taryn Rose Mayer…is the daughter of Kurt and Shawn Mayer…is majoring in psychology…has two sisters, Corey and Jamie…mother played field hockey at Penn State, sister Corey played field hockey at James Madison and sister Jamie played field hockey at Ursinus.
