Shippensburg University Athletics

Thrived in a special teams capacity in his debut season for Shippensburg after spending time at two other programs in his career … will seek additional playing time on the defensive line in his final season… led the defensive line with a 430-pound bench and a 295-pound clean lift in spring lifting.

2007 (Red-shirt junior):  Played in all of the team’s 11 games for the Red Raiders, primarily on special teams … totaled one solo tackle, a fourth quarter sack of Josh Watters versus Lock Haven.

2006 (Red-shirt sophomore):  Was not with the team.

2005 (Red-shirt freshman at McDaniel):  Transferred to McDaniel College from Virginia Tech … vied for playing time at inside linebacker … did not record any statistics.

2004 (Freshman at Virginia Tech):  Attempted to walk-on.

Northeast High School:  Played for head coach Mike Cutham … played fullback, linebacker and defensive end … was a three-time letterman … earned the Ed Heaphy award while a captain of the team … recognized as a scholar-athlete … graduated in the top 10 percent of his class.

Personal:  Full name is Joseph John Brockmeyer III … is the son of Joe and Debbie Brockmeyer … born on Oct. 6, 1983 … is majoring in exercise science … has a brother, Justin, who transferred to East Carolina's football team after playing for McDaniel, and a sister, Jessica, who plays soccer at Northeast High School … his father was a two-time All-American at McDaniel and played one season with the Hamilton TigerCats of the Canadian Football League.
