Biography

2014 (Sophomore): Played in 10 games for Penn State…ranked fourth on the team in rushing…totaled 22 carries for 68 yards, averaging 3.1 yards per rush…saw a heavy workload against UMass, posting single-game career highs of 16 carries and 35 rushing yards…earned multiple carries against Temple and Illinois…remained a special teams fixture, recording a tackle against Indiana…sustained a serious injury in the final game of the regular season versus Michigan State.
 
2013 (Freshman): Appeared in the final nine games of the season for Penn State, culminating in a 2014 Outstanding Run-On Award…one of 12 true freshmen to suit up for the Nittany Lions…totaled four tackles, including solo stops against Kent State, Indiana and Michigan…assisted on tackle in victory at No. 14 Wisconsin…strong work ethic led to special teams work…earned a carry against Purdue...went on to have a stand-out performance in the 2014 Blue-White Game, earning nine carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns...was asked to lead the post-game huddle break in the locker room following the Blue-White Game.
 
Blackhawk High School: Earned three varsity letters for the Cougars and head coach Joe Hamilton…2013 All-State Third Team at running back...named to the 2013 All-Parkway Conference First Team at running back…earned 2013 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette FAB 22 honor…set the Beaver County single-game rushing record in his final game, running for 404 yards against Chartiers Valley (17th all-time in PIAA history at the time)…honored as WTAE Clearview Student-Athlete of the Week for the performance…senior-year statistics included 210 carries, 1,494 rushing yards, 49 receptions, 522 receiving yards and 30 combined touchdowns…elected a senior team captain…career statistics include 2,185 rushing yards, 691 receiving yards and 272 return yards (3,106 all-purpose yards)…played in the East-West All Star Game…also earned varsity letters in baseball and basketball, contributing to a 2012 WPIAL Baseball Championship…excelled as an honor-roll student and was a member of the National Honor Society.
 
About Chiappiale: Full name is Cole Philip Chiappiale…is the son of Phil Chiappiale and the late Kim Chiappiale…has a brother, Roger, and a sister, Brittany.
