Frank Duffy

Duffy begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Red Raiders in 2007 following an outstanding four-year career in which he was a three-time All-PSAC Western Division selection.
 
A 2006 graduate with a bachelor¹s degree in criminal justice, Duffy will work with the team¹s defensive line that returns two starters in Jason Groller and Josh Emberg. Groller was named All-PSAC Western Division Second Team in 2006.
 
Working with Duffy as a volunteer assistant will be Brandon Cook who was a four-year letterwinner at defensive tackle for Shippensburg and teammate of Duffy's from 2003-06.
 
During his four seasons with the Red Raiders, Duffy appeared in 45 career games with 37 starts. He totaled 199 tackles, including 30 for loss and 10 sacks, and had five interceptions, one of which he returned 32 yards for a touchdown versus Clarion at home on Oct. 25, 2003 in a  13-0 Shippensburg victory.
 
Duffy's best season came in 2005 when he was named All-PSAC Western Division First Team after finishing fourth on the team in tackles with 66, along with seven for loss, three sacks and two interceptions.
 
During the 2004 season, Duffy was named PSAC Western Division Defensive Player of the Week after posting a team-high eight tackles, including five solo stops, in Shippensburg's 44-0 win over Clarion on October 23. He  also added a tackle for loss and recovered a fumble that led to a Red Raider touchdown. The Red Raiders held Clarion to just 90 yards of total offense, including 16 yards rushing.
 
A native of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Duffy currently lives in Shippensburg.
