A four-year letterman as a defensive tackle for the Red Raiders from 2003-06, Cook returns for his second season as a volunteer assistant on the defensive line in 2008.
In his first season, Cook was instrumental in helping former teammate Jason Groller earn his second consecutive All-PSAC Western Division Second Team selection after finishing second among defensive linemen with 44 tackles which included 4.0 for loss and 1.5 sacks. Groller also led the team in quarterback hurries with three and also had a fumble recovery.
During his career, Cook appeared in 41 games, starting 23. He totaled 100 tackles, including 28 for loss and seven sacks. His best season came as a senior in 2006 when he started all 11 games and finished second on the team among defensive linemen with a career-high 34 tackles.
In 2005, Cook led all defensive linemen with 28 tackles while appearing in 10 of the team’s 11 games with eight starts. He totaled his first career interception on October 8 in a 26-7 victory at Lock Haven when he picked up a deflected pass from Lock Haven quarterback Jason Eby and returned it 33 yards for the game’s first touchdown.
As a sophomore in 2004, Cook played in 11 of the team’s 12 games and ranked in the top-10 on the team with 28 tackles. He was also third on the team with 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
A native of Nokesville, Virginia, Cook currently lives in Shippensburg.
