A four-year letterman at defensive tackle for SU from 2003-06, Cook was a coach at the high school level – working in the Mid-Penn Conference from 2013-18. He spent three seasons at Carlisle Area High School from 2016-18, including two years as the defensive coordinator while coaching the secondary and linebackers.

Prior to Carlisle, Cook spent three seasons as a coach at Big Spring High School, serving as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in 2014-15 after debuting with the Bulldogs as the offensive and defensive line coach.

Cook’s first stint on the SU coaching staff from 2007-08 also featured work as an instructor to the defensive line. In his first season, Cook coached former teammate Jason Groller, who earned his second consecutive All-PSAC Western Division Second Team selection after finishing second among defensive linemen with 44 tackles.

During his career, Cook appeared in 41 games, starting 23. He totaled 100 tackles, including 28 for loss and seven sacks. His best season came as a senior in 2006 when he started all 11 games and finished second on the team among defensive linemen with a career-high 34 tackles.

In 2005, Cook led all defensive linemen with 28 tackles while appearing in 10 of the team’s 11 games with eight starts. He totaled his first career interception on October 8 in a 26-7 victory at Lock Haven when he picked up a deflected pass from Lock Haven quarterback Jason Eby and returned it 33 yards for the game’s first touchdown.

A native of Nokesville, Virginia, Cook and his wife Tracy are the proud parents of their son, Brandon, and twin daughters Brielle and Brenna.
