Biography

2012 (R-Junior): Made an immediate impact with the Raiders as a scoring forward in her first season on the team…ranked second on the team with both 10 goals and 21 points…led the team with four game-winning goals, punching in the winners against Saint Michael’s, West Chester, Millersville and Mansfield…scored at least one goal in eight games…had multiple-goal efforts in home wins over West Chester and Mansfield…totaled 21 shots on goal…named to the 2013 NFHCA/Gladiator by SGI Division II National Academic Squad.

2011 (Junior): Did not play.

2010 (Sophomore): Appeared in 17 games for the Lancers of Longwood University (NCAA Division I)…scored two goals…recorded three shots on goal…named to 2010 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

2009 (Freshman): Debuted with Longwood University (NCAA Division I)…played in 15 games…made two starts…scored one goal…tallied two assists…recorded six shots on goal... earned NorPac East Division Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a goal in a win over Davidson…named to 2009 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad…competed in the 2009 USFHA National Indoor Championships, winning one pool.

2008 (Freshman): Attended Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC).

Central Dauphin High School: Earned three varsity letters with the Rams under coach Janelle (Kern) Burger…was a senior team captain on a squad that reached the PIAA Final Four and was the runner-up for District III…earned Field Hockey PA All-State Second Team as a senior in addition to plaudits as a Mid-Penn All Star and a honorable mention spot on Patriot News Big 11 team…received the Central Dauphin Field Hockey Coaches Award and Ram Award as a junior while earning a honorable mention spot on the Mid-Penn All Star squad…rewarded with the field hockey team’s Most Improved Player award as a sophomore…played on the club circuit with PA Mavericks and coach Chelton Hunter…also participated in soccer for two years, contributing to the 2007 PIAA ‘AAAA’ state championship squad.

Personal: Full name is Taylor Rose Bender…is the daughter of Jed and Renee Bender…majoring in information technology and seeking secondary teaching certification…has two brothers: Jerad and Ryan.
