2021 (Sophomore): Played in 18 games for the Raiders, making 14 starts in her debut season…worked primarily as a defender that limited opponents to three goals or less and helped SU to a perfect 20-0 season…finished with two goals and one assist…recorded her first collegiate points with a goal and an assist at Seton Hill…scored her second goal in the PSAC Championship game, tying the score against West Chester…totaled five shots on goal…named to the 2021 NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad.
 
2020 (Freshman): No season due to the COVID-19 pandemic… recognized as a 2020 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher…named to the 2020 NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad…competed with the tennis team during the spring season.
 
Rijnlands Lyceum Wassenaar: Competed as a defender for club team HGC under coach Nick Budgeon…contributed to Dutch U12 Indoor and Outdoor National Championships in 2013 and 2014…also played tennis.
 
About Hoekstra: Full name is Merel Charlotte Eva Hoekstra…is the daughter of Marco Götte and Franciska Hoekstra…majoring in marketing…has three sisters: Roos, Julia and Noor.
