Biography

2011 (Junior): Started all 21 games at defender in her third season with the Raiders…evolved into a valuable asset in the defensive backfield…recorded two assists on the season, one against C.W. Post as well as the lone assist in a 1-0 win against Mercyhurst…took one shot on goal.

2010 (Sophomore): Performed well in her second season with the team…appeared in 19 games…made 14 starts, including the NCAA semifinals against Bloomsburg…recorded assists against Seton Hill and Slippery Rock…contributed defensive saves in back-to-back games against Millersville and C.W. Post…had one shot on goal.

2009 (Freshman): Became a steady contributor along the back lines for the Lady Raiders in her debut season…appeared in 16 games as a reserve defender…recorded a defensive save in the season-opener against Southern Connecticut State.

Palmyra High School: Collected three letters as a Cougar in the Mid-Penn Conference’s Capital Division under head coach Wendy Reichenbach…also played for Mid-State club team…served as a team captain and was named an First Team All-State selection during her senior season…also selected to the Lebanon County and Mid-Penn All-Star First Teams in 2007 and 2008…helped guide the Cougars to become state finalists in 2007…competed in the 2008 Keystone State Summer Games, ultimately winning a gold medal.

Personal: Full name is Kayla Marie Harshman…is the daughter of Kent and Cindy Harshman…majoring in mathematics with a concentration in statistics…sister Kristi played field hockey at Wake Forest from 2003 until 2006 as a forward and played on two NCAA national championship teams.
