Nikola “Nikki” Grafnetterova, a former goalkeeper at nearby Wilson College, will serve as a volunteer assistant coach this season. She will also serve as the graduate assistant in the office of academic support services for student-athletes.
In four years with the Phoenix, Grafnetterova was a three-time Northeastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Scholar-Athlete and a three-time selection to the ZAG/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Wilson won the NEAC championship in Grafnetterova’s first season with the team.
On the national stage, Grafnetterova worked for USA Field Hockey as an intern in venue and general management during the BDO International Junior World Cup in Boston.
She also played basketball, softball and lacrosse in addition to working as the sports editor for the school’s news-magazine and serving as a tour guide for the admissions office.
Last year, Grafnetterova was an assistant field hockey coach at her alma mater while assisting the athletic department with game promotions, game management and event planning.
Grafnetterova, a native of the Czech Republic, graduated in 2010 with a bachelor of science in sports management and psychology with minors in coaching and Spanish.
