Madison Scarr joins the SU field hockey coaching staff in 2018 as a volunteer assistant coach.
 
Scarr was a member of the Raider field hockey team from 2014-17, contributing to a pair of NCAA Division II National Championships and a 65-17 overall record during her four seasons in uniform.
 
As a senior in 2017, Scarr ranked fifth in scoring (16 points) on SU’s National Championship squad. She ranked fourth on the team with a career-high seven goals, her last being her only career game-winning goal – the opening tally in the 2017 NCAA Championship victory over LIU Post.
 
Overall, Scarr scored 14 goals and seven assists for 35 career points in 59 games as a Raider.
 
For her career, Scarr was a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholar of Distinction and All-Academic honoree. Scarr is also the 2016 NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient – an honor received for possessing the highest grade-point average of all competitors at the NCAA Field Hockey Final Four that season.
 
During her time as an undergraduate, Scarr was active with the Student Government Association. Scarr served as the 2017-18 Shippensburg University Student Government Association President.
 
A native of Lewisburg, Scarr graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg in May 2018 with a degree in accounting.
 
Scarr is currently studying toward her MBA at Shippensburg with the assistance of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. In March 2018, Scarr became SU’s 10th NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in history.
