Kristina Taylor, SU’s all-time leading goal scorer, returns for her third season as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater.

The Raiders have posted a 37-4 record in two seasons with Taylor volunteering her services. She was on the sidelines for SU’s 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship victory, as Shippensburg recorded an overtime victory over LIU Post.

The 2010 NFHCA Division II Player of the Year, Taylor finished up her Shippensburg career as a three-time NFHCA All-America First Team selection. Additionally, Taylor is the first field hockey athlete in PSAC history to be named conference Player of the Year three times.

For her career, Taylor totaled 80 goals and 26 assists for 186 points. She ranks among the Top 10 players in NCAA Division II history for both categories.

As a senior in 2011, Taylor led the nation with 23 goals and also recorded eight assists for 54 total points – which ranked her sixth in the country for points per game. She received her fourth consecutive selection to the All-PSAC Western Division First Team squad that season, becoming SU’s first four-time All-PSAC player since Melissa Nash (1991-94).

Taylor graduated in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in social work and a minor in coaching.
