Annabel Skubisz is entering her second season as an assistant field hockey coach at Shippensburg University in 2026. Skubisz's duties include tutoring the goalkeepers and assisting the Raiders with video analysis and film breakdown.
In her first season, Skubisz helped guide the Raiders to a historic season that included a NCAA Division II National title and a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship.
The Raiders' incredible postseason run began with a successful "revenge tour" that was the 2025 PSAC Tournament. SU avenged all three of its regular season losses in the span of five days with wins over nationally-ranked foes Bloomsburg, East Stroudsburg and Kutztown -- handing No. 1-ranked KU its first loss.
The NCAA Tourament saw the underdog Raiders knock off No. 1 overall seed Kutztown in the semifinals and then-undefeated Newberry in the finals, coming back from a one goal deficit in each game.
Skubisz arrived at Shippensburg after completing an illustrious playing career at Northwestern in which she won two national championships for a Wildcat squad that posted a 94-19 record during her five years in Evanston.
A two-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) First Team All-American and a two-time Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, Skubisz played in 108 games and made 105 starts for the Wildcats, compiling an 87-18 record that included 37 career shutouts.
Skubisz earned All-NFHCA West honors in all five of her seasons, including First Team honors in her final two seasons. In Northwestern’s 2024 national championship season, Skubisz started all 24 games and led the nation with 23 wins and an .854 save percentage while ranking second in the nation with a 0.60 goals-against average (GAA).
Overall, Skubisz made 405 career saves en route to a 0.90 GAA and an .807 save percentage.
At Northwestern, Skubisz was a two-year captain who was elected a member of the team’s leadership committee. A gifted student, Skubisz was a four-time NFHCA Academic Squad selection from 2020-23 and a four-time Academic All-Big-10 honoree from 2021-24.
For the last year and a half, Skubisz has been a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team. Including her junior experience, Skubisz has more than eight years of experience with USA Field Hockey, including prominent roles with the U17 USA Junior National Team and U21 Team. Her World Championship experience includes gold medals with the US at the 2023 Hockey5s Pan American Cup in Jamaica and the 2023 Junior Pan American Championship in Barbados.
As a prep athlete, Skubisz earned three All-America honors at The Kinkaid School. Her team was either the state champion or the state runner-up in each of her final three seasons.
A native of Houston, Texas, Skubisz earned her bachelor of arts in data science and economics from Northwestern in 2024 and her master’s degree from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management in 2025.
