Amanda Houser, an All-American goalkeeper with Shippensburg, returns for her third season as an assistant coach. Houser, a two-time All-PSAC performer from 2006-09, was also a member of the NFHCA Division II National Academic Team and has become a valuable instructor for the Raiders.
Houser appeared in 64 career games for the Raiders and compiled an incredible 41-10 record with 17 individual shutouts to her credit. SU won 67 of its 89 games in her four-year career, making three appearances in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
As a senior, Houser patrolled the cage for more than 3,800 minutes of goaltending and led the nation with a 0.85 goals-against average and a save percentage of .818. She collected 296 saves also helped captain a defense that totaled 13 shutouts in 2009 - which is one short of a single-season school record.
Houser graduated in December 2010 with a degree in social work.
