Biography

2011 (Junior): Ranked fourth on the team with 45.2 innings pitched during his third season with the Raiders…made 16 appearances, including 10 starts…struck out 27 hitters…named the PSAC Eastern Division Co-Pitcher of the Week after recording a win and a save in a two-game stretch…threw SU’s first individual seven-inning shutout since Tim Freshour’s 2009 no-hitter with a 5-0 victory at Bloomsburg…scattered three hits and walked just one batter in the best start of his collegiate career…only one runner reached third base in his third career complete-game performance…entered a game the previous day with the tying run on second base and needed just two pitches to pick up his second career save…compiled a 15-inning scoreless streak during the regular season…earned a win over Clarion after five shutout innings with four strikeouts…pitched over the summer for the Woodstock River Bandits in Virginia.

2010 (Sophomore): Progressed well as a pitcher in his second season with the Red Raiders…led the team with 18 appearances during the season…made five starts in conference play…struck out 40 batters in 50 innings…threw two complete games…did not allow an earned run in eight of his 13 relief appearances…had his best start of the year against Mansfield, allowing two earned runs while striking out five batters in 6.1 innings…notched his first win of the year with three shutout innings and four strikeouts in relief against nationally-ranked Kutztown…also had a save against the Golden Bears…picked up a win at East Stroudsburg.

2009 (Freshman): Made 15 relief appearances in his debut season as a pitcher for the Red Raiders…pitched 16.2 innings…struck out nine batters…had seven scoreless appearances…punched out multiple batters in two outings.

James Madison High School: Completed two years of varsity baseball under head coach Mark Gjormand… named an All-District pitcher as a senior after posting a 2.41 ERA and averaging over a strikeout per inning while batting .375… helped team to a district championship and a 21-3 record during his junior season… selected to the All-Tournament team at the Orlando National Baseball Classic…competed for legion team Post 180 in Vienna and led the squad with 51 strikeouts and a 2.21 era in 40 innings.

Personal: Full name is Edward Larder Williams…is the son of Ed and Laura Williams…majoring in criminal justice.
