Biography

2012 (Redshirt-junior): Started every game after missing the previous season to injury and once again was named to the All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team as an outfielder…also received an Atlantic Region Rawlings First Team “Gold Glove” award for the second time in his career after posting a .983 fielding percentage…began splitting time between center field and right field after playing right for most of his career…batted in the third spot in 49 of 53 games…led all regulars with a .304 batting average…second on the team with 32 RBIs and tied for second with four home runs…second on the team with a .481 slugging percentage…led team with 16 doubles, which ranked fourth in the PSAC…drew 23 walks…stole six bases in eight attempts…had 17 multiple-hit games and seven multiple-RBI games…had a team-high nine-game hitting streak during the season…scored a team season-high four runs at Lock Haven…ripped three RBIs against Barton and Tusculum.

2011 (Junior): Made just six starts before suffering an injury at Catawba that forced him to complete a medical redshirt season.

2010 (Sophomore): Patrolled right field for the Red Raiders in his second season…honored as an All-PSAC Second Team outfielder for the second straight season…made 48 starts and appeared in all 49 of the team's games…led SU in hits (53), home runs (7), walks (22), RBIs (38) and slugging percentage (.550)...finished with a .331 batting average and 12 doubles…struck out just 19 times in 160 at-bats…displayed outstanding defense…collected eight outfield assists…stole three bases…compiled a team-high 11 games with multiple RBIs…had multiple hits in 13 games…posted a season-long hitting streak of 10 games…compiled an on-base percentage of .415 and a slugging percentage of .550 (.965 OPS)…went 5-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep of California (Pa.) with a home run, double, five RBIs and two stolen bases…also served as the team’s de-facto closer…recorded a team-high two saves…struck out seven batters in 12.1 innings of work, making 12 appearances…thrived in summer ball in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) with the league champion Amsterdam Mohawks…hit .294 with eight home runs, 27 RBIs and 28 runs scored in 143 at-bats…tied for the league lead in home runs, ranked third in slugging percentage and fourth in total bases with 74…named the MVP of the championship tournament.

2009 (Freshman): Thrived as a full-time player in his debut season with Shippensburg…named to the All-PSAC Eastern Division Second Team as an outfielder…received ABCA/Rawlings Division II Atlantic Region First Team “Gold Glove” as an outfielder…yielded team highs in triples (three), home runs (six), RBIs (46) and total bases (97)…batted .345 while starting in 52 of the team's 54 games…served as Shippensburg’s primary clean-up hitter…drilled 60 hits and crossed the plate 36 times…was the team's best hitter in conference play, hitting .444 in 24 divisional contests with a team-high 19 RBIs…committed just one error in 100 chances for a .990 fielding percentage…had three outfield assists…drew 17 walks compared to just 20 strikeouts in 174 at-bats…stole six bases in seven attempts…went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in his first career game…had a 3-for-3 performance with four RBIs against Slippery Rock…finished a triple short of the cycle in his best individual game against East Stroudsburg, going 5-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, three RBIs and three runs…posted multiple hits in 15 games…compiled an on-base percentage of .413 and a slugging percentage of .557 (.970 OPS).

Boyertown High School: Won the Berks County batting championship and was an accomplished offensive outfielder for head coach Todd Moyer… finished as the batting champion of the state tournament and was a member of the Carpenter Cup and East PA teams…concluded the 2007 season as the leading hitter on his high school squad and was an All-PAC 10 award recipient…also competed for the Boyertown legion team under head coach Rick Moats.

Personal: Full name is Cody Ray Kulp…is the son of Robert and Vicky Kulp…majoring in geo-environmental studies while seeking a geographic information systems certificate.
