Nick Umberger ’12 joins the Raider coaching staff this season after completing his eligibility last season and earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is also taking classes toward his master’s degree in business administration.
Umberger capped off a banner senior season with several major awards. He earned ABCA and Daktronics All-Region First Team honors in addition to a spot on the All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team after going 9-2 with a 2.66 ERA. His final collegiate start was a nine-inning victory in the PSAC tournament over NCAA qualifier Mercyhurst – his seventh complete game of 2012.
Additional merit was given to Umberger for his defense. He was selected to the 2012 Atlantic Region Rawlings Gold Glove Second Team after finishing his senior season without an error through 25 chances.
For his career, Umberger made 36 starts and 57 total appearances in a Raider uniform, recording 16 victories over the course of 231 innings pitched. He earned Capital One Academic All-District accolades as a senior.
