Kory Winter joins the Raider baseball program in 2015 as an assistant coach. He will serve as SU’s pitching coach.
 
Winter arrives from Muskingum University in Ohio, where he spent the last three years as its primary assistant coach while attending graduate school.
 
He was Muskingum’s pitching coach in 2014 after serving as a hitting, outfield and base-running coach in 2013. Winter also held the role of Muskingum’s recruiting coordinator in his three years with the Fighting Muskies.
 
Additional responsibilities at Muskingum included student-athlete academic coordination, daily field work, equipment inventory and designing and implementing the team’s strength and conditioning program.
 
Winter boasts significant instructional experience, serving as the head coach of the Titans Baseball Organization (18/19u) in 2014 and the Ohio Elite Baseball Organization (16u, 17u, 18u) from 2011-13. Numerous players from his teams went to play at the NCAA Division I and Division II level.
 
As a collegiate athlete, Winter was a four-year letter winner at Wittenberg University – pitching and playing the outfield for coaches Jay Lewis and Rick White. He was also an active member of Athletes in Action and SAAC during his college career. 
 
Winter graduated from Dublin Scioto High School in 2006, where he played baseball and football. He earned his bachelor of arts in English from Wittenberg in 2010 and his master of arts in adult education from Muskingum in 2014.
