Corey Haines joins the SU coaching staff in 2012 after spending three years as a volunteer and student assistant baseball coach at the University of Maryland – College Park.
Haines currently serves as the head coach of the Alexandria Aces in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, where he instructs some of the best amateur collegiate players from across the country every summer.
As a player, Haines spent two seasons as a second baseman with Cecil College, appearing in the regional championship in 2007 and winning the Maryland JUCO state title in 2008. He also played with the Cecil Legion, winning state legion championships in 2006 and 2007.
A native of Elkton, Maryland, Haines is a graduate of North East High School. He earned four varsity letters with the Indians, winning a Maryland 2A state championship in 2006.
Haines graduated from the University of Maryland – College Park in 2011 with a degree in kinesiology.
