Billy Funk returns to the Raider coaching staff in 2015 for his second season as an assistant.
Funk arrived at Shippensburg after spending the 2013 season as an assistant coach at Rappahannock Community College. Funk began his collegiate playing career with the Gulls, winning the 2008 Virginia Community College System Championship as a first team all-conference selection.
A native of Mechanicsville, Va., Funk spent the 2011 season as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Bluefield (Va.) College. Prior to coaching, Funk spent two seasons as a player for Bluefield and helped lead the Rams to the 2009 National Christian College Athletic Association National Championship.
Funk’s additional experiences include work as a hitting instructor for the Baseball Performance Academy and holding various positions at the minor league level within the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles organizations.
Funk graduated from Bluefield College in May of 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.
