2016 (Sophomore): Earned All-PSAC East Second Team honors as he became one of SU’s most reliable hitters and fielders in second season…finished fourth on the team with .329 batting average…had the fourth-highest slugging percentage on SU (.463) and finished with a .400 on-base percentage…led the Raiders with 18 doubles…hit two triples…struck out 26 times and walked 21 times…committed just four errors and finished with a .981 fielding percentage…had 16 multi-hit games, including five three-hit performances…went 4-for-4 with a double at Bloomsburg…had eight multi-RBI games, including two four-RBI games (at Mansfield and at Kutztown)…started all 52 games…started 51 games at second base and one game in left field.
 
2015 (Freshman): Made an immediate impact as an infielder, hitting .348 in his debut season…hit seven doubles, a home run and drove in 20 runs…struck out 15 times and walked 15 times…compiled .415 on-base percentage…had eight multi-hit games…recorded 16-game hit streak from March 13 – April 4…was 1-for-1 with four RBI on March 24 vs. IUP…hit a solo home run on March 17 vs. Lock Haven…was 9-for-12 with a pair of three-hit games in a four-game weekend series against Bloomsburg April 17 – April 18…started 37 games at second base…had a .954 fielding percentage, making just seven errors.
 
Spring Grove High School: Totaled six varsity letters for the Rockets as a baseball and basketball player, playing baseball for head coach Eric Zeigler…named to the 2013 All-State Second Team…twice named a YAIAA First Team All Star…was a member of Team PA in the 2013 Big 26 Classic…2014 Shipley Award Recipient…compiled a .365 career batting average…played club ball for the Mid-Atlantic Rookies under head coach Mike Chroniger…graduated with a 3.7 GPA.
 
About Spangler: Full name is Nicholas Ray Spangler…is the son of Matt and Tisha Spangler…majoring in management information systems…has a brother, Dylan.
