2018 (R-Sophomore): Named to the All-PSAC Eastern Division First Team after a stellar season on the mound in which he led the PSAC with nine wins and 75.1 innings pitched during the regular season…ranked fourth in the league with 89 strikeouts…finished with a 2.76 ERA in 81.2 innings…threw four complete games…made 17 appearances, including 13 starts…allowed just 13 extra-base hits and held opponents to a .220 batting average…threw at least six innings in eight of his 13 starts…made seven starts in which he allowed two earned runs or less…struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete-game win over Mansfield, allowing one run on four hits…fanned 10 batters in a complete-game shutout of East Stroudsburg…struck out five or batters in 11 games…made starts against Mercyhurst and Seton Hill in the PSAC Tournament…delivered scoreless relief appearances against Shepherd and IUP.
 
2017 (R-Freshman): Made 18 appearances including 10 starts in his second season on the mound for SU…finished tied for second on the teams in wins with five and recorded the second lowest ERA for a starting pitcher on the team at 4.59… in 66.2 innings of work he tallied one complete game and finished with 55 strikeouts, a mark good for third one the team…made one appearance in the PSAC Tournament against Mercyhurst and two appearances in the Regional Tournament against Millersville and Shepherd.
 
2016 (Freshman): Earned a medical redshirt after appearing in eight games, including one start, and sustaining arm injury that caused him to miss the rest of the season…allowed six earned runs in 10.2 innings…pitched two innings, allowing one unearned run in collegiate debut at Belmont Abbey…had scoreless appearances against UNC Pembroke, Le Moyne, Pitt-Johnstown and at Wilmington.
 
Middletown Area High School: Earned four varsity letters as a member of the Blue Raiders under head coach Steve Shuleski...finished with a 5-3 record as a senior…named to Mid-Penn First Team as a junior and senior…named to Mid-Penn All-Underclassmen Team as a sophomore…played club baseball for the Capital Region Warriors under coach Gary Pritchard…member of honor roll and National Honor Society.
 
About Sims: Full name is Zachary Baldwin Sims…is the son of Dale and Aimee Sims…double-majoring in entrepreneurship and finance…has a brother, Josh.
