Biography

2014 (R-Freshman): Appeared in eight games for the Red Raiders as a running back during his debut season…earned nine carries, all of which went for positive yardage…totaled 68 yards, averaging 7.6 yards per carry…ran for two touchdowns, one each against Seton Hill and Millersville…had season highs of five rushes, 48 rushing yards and a long rush of 14 yards against Millersville…ran for a two-point conversion at Millersville…had two carries against Seton Hill and Lock Haven…also served on special teams, totaling five tackles on the year…recorded two tackles against East Stroudsburg…recognized with the John A. Hubley award at the team’s postseason awards banquet.  
 
2013 (Freshman): Redshirt season.
 
Allentown Central Catholic High School: Was a standout tailback for the Vikings under head coaches Harold Fairclough and John Cupples…ran for 3,293 yards and 41 touchdowns as a senior for a Viking squad that won its fourth straight District 11 Class 3A title and reached the PIAA ‘AAA’ semifinals for a third consecutive season…selected to the PA Sportswriters ‘AAA’ All-State squad…named the Morning Call Player of the Year…had seven games with at least 200 rushing yards and set the Lehigh Valley Conference single-game record with 422 yards against Bethlehem Catholic…was a three-year starter who totaled 6,473 rushing yards and 85 touchdowns…holds the school’s single-season and career rushing yardage records…also played lacrosse.
 
About McDermott: Full name is Colin Michael McDermott…is the son of Michael and Susan McDermott…majoring in management...has four siblings: Lauren, Caitlin, Michael and Kevin.
