2015-16 (Junior): Competed for the Raiders in the first half of the season, primarily in freestyle events…posted the team’s fifth-fastest times on the year in the 50-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with performances at Ithaca’s Bomber Invitational.
2014-15 (Sophomore): Continued his work as a freestyle swimmer for the Raiders in his second season…competed for the second consecutive season in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle events at the PSAC Championships…achieved each of his season bests in freestyle events at George Mason.
2013-14 (Freshman): Debuted as a freestyle swimmer for the Raiders…represented the team in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle at the PSAC Championships…established a new PR in the 100 freestyle at the PSAC Championships and a personal best in the 50 freestyle at Ithaca.
Chambersburg Area Senior High School: Earned four varsity letters as a Trojan under head coach Mark Shoap…was a four-time conference qualifier and a two-time district qualifier.
About Gyurisin: Full name is Michael Thomas Gyurisin…is the son of Charles and Sue Gyurisin…majoring in exercise science…has two sisters who attended Shippensburg, Andrea (’10) and Lauren (’12).
