2014 (R-Freshman): Played in all 11 games for the Red Raiders during his debut season, serving as an integral member of the rotation in the secondary…did not start, but saw regular time as a safety…finished with 25 tackles (17 solo)…intercepted a pass and returned it 21 yards against Lock Haven…notched a season-high six tackles against California and West Chester…totaled five tackles against East Stroudsburg…had multiple tackles in six games and at least one tackle in seven of the team’s 11 games.
 
2013 (Freshman): Redshirt season.
 
William Allen High School: Earned three varsity letters for the Canaries as a safety and wide receiver under head coach George Clay…started in the 2013 National High School All-Star Football Game (Blue-Grey Classic) in Tampa, Fla….selected for the McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic…Second Team Mountain Valley Conference defensive back as a senior…named MVP of the Jason Garrett Football Camp at Princeton University…picked by his coaches as the team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior…also competed in swimming & diving, track & field and lacrosse.
 
About Dakes: Full name is Zakary Joseph Dakes…is the son of Joseph and Christine Dakes...majoring in marketing…sister, Devin, was a rower at Temple.
