2012-13 (Junior): Notched another PSAC place-winning performance in the weight throw during his third season with the Raiders…placed fourth at the PSAC Indoor Championships in the weight with a personal best, NCAA provisional qualifying throw…was a PSAC indoor qualifier in the shot and a PSAC outdoor qualifier in the shot and the hammer…matched his indoor personal best in the shot at Lehigh…established a new personal best in the discus at the Paul Kaiser Classic.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Broke the school record in the hammer throw during his second season…placed second at the PSAC Outdoor Championships in the hammer, the site of his school-record throw, and earned fourth-place honors indoors in the weight throw…was a PSAC indoor and outdoor qualifier in the shot…established a new personal best in the discus at the Paul Kaiser Classic…earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors outdoors for his hammer throw.
2010-11 (Freshman): Provided solid performances as a thrower in his debut season with the Raiders…qualified for the PSAC indoor championships in the weight throw and the PSAC outdoor championships in the shot and hammer…set outdoor PRs in the shot and discus at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Invitational…established his outdoor PR in the hammer at the Paul Kaiser Classic from Seth Grove Stadium...achieved his PR in the weight at the ESU College Invitational.
Conestoga High School: Totaled six varsity letters with the Pioneers under coach Barry Flicker…recorded high school PRs of 145 feet in the discus and 52-plus feet in the shot…won two Central League championships in the shot and javelin and posted a second-place finish in the discus…twice honored with Conestoga High School Leadership awards…also played three years on the football team.
Personal: Full name is Christopher Joseph Nelson…is the son of Chris and Suzanne Nelson…majoring in exercise science…has a sister, Sam, who is on the SU women’s track & field team.
