2012-13 (Sophomore): Won the NJCAA Division I National Championships both indoors and outdoors in the shot put to cap off a memorable second season at Hagerstown Community College…never trailed at the NJCAA Outdoor Championships, setting the early lead on his first throw and posting his best mark on the fourth throw…placed 14th in the discus at the NJCAA Outdoor National Championships.
2011-12 (Freshman): Debuted as a thrower at Hagerstown Community College…competed in four events at the NJCAA North East District Championships, setting a PR in the hammer…recorded his indoor PR in the shot put at the Susquehanna Open and his outdoor PR at York’s Green & White Invitational…established a personal best in the discus at Morgan State.
Brunswick High School: Earned multiple varsity letters with the Railroaders…won six Maryland state titles between the shot put and the discus…finished eighth in the shot put at the 2010 indoor high school national championships and ninth at the 2010 outdoor high school national championships…also played football and basketball.
Personal: Full name is Grant Nathan Smith…is the son of Joe and Stacey Smith…majoring in psychology and seeking a minor in coaching…has a sister, Hannah.
