2012 (R-Sophomore): Weiss stepped up in the postseason for Shippensburg as a critical scoring performer, including a turn as the No. 4 runner at the PSAC Championships with an all-conference 20th-place finish. Utilizing the fast LHU course, Weiss set a new 6K PR at the Atlantic Regional Championships by finishing in 22:11 for a Top-30 finish as SU’s No. 5 runner. She maintained her role as SU’s No. 5 runner at the NCAA Championships. Her success in the classroom resulted in a selection to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team. Indoors, Weiss was a NCAA track qualifier who ran on SU’s distance medley relay and contributed to a PSAC indoor championship in the same event. Individually, she was a PSAC place-winner in the mile and an open qualifier at 3K. Outdoors, Weiss was a place-winner with the 4x800-meter relay and an open qualifier at 1,500 meters.

2011 (R-Freshman): Debuting for the Raiders, Weiss finished five races during her inaugural season. Among the highlights was a 6K PR established at the PSAC championships and turns as the team’s No. 5 runner at both the Gettysburg Invitational and the LHU Go Fast River Run. Weiss also competed in the SU Piper Alumni Invitational and the KU Division II Challenge. Later in the year, Weiss performed well on the track. Outdoors, Weiss placed fourth in the 1,500 meters at the PSAC championships. She was also a PSAC indoor qualifier in the mile and the 3K.

2010 (Freshman): Weiss completed a redshirt season.

Tulpehocken High School: Weiss totaled seven letters for the Trojans under coach Rusty Keith. In cross country, she was a three-time county champion, three-time district medalist and three-time state medalist, with her highest finish being 16th place. Her success resulted in three-time Runner of the Year and All-County awards. She was also among the Top 50 finishers at the Foot Locker regional race. As a track competitor, she won the mile twice at county championships and was the fastest freshman miler in the state. She is a four-time district medalist and two-time state medalist in the mile. Weiss, who graduated third in her class, also played field hockey.

Personal: Heather Ann Weiss is the daughter of Mark D. and Mary L. Weiss. Her major is exercise science and she is seeking a minor in biology. She has one sister, Amanda.
